Our Cozy Corner of the World

Envolve purchases lunch for Barry Towers residents from locally-owned Cozy Corner

MEMPHIS, TN Individuals and local businesses alike have suffered greatly due to the effects of COVID-19, and the property management company for Barry Towers Apartments decided to do what they could to help.

Envolve LLC wanted to support its communities during these uncertain times. The company decided to purchase lunches for all residents of Barry Towers on 6/23—but instead of patronizing a chain restaurant, they chose locally-owned Cozy Corner BBQ.

“It was a privilege to treat our residents to lunch,” said Jake Turner, SVP, Operations & Compliance for Envolve Client Services Group. “We also make it a point to use this Resident Lunch Program to benefit small businesses. Many local restaurants lost sales during the worst of the pandemic shutdowns, so this has been a great way for us to help support them.”

Residents gathered in the Barry Towers community room and outdoor patio to enjoy their lunches. Entrée choices included BBQ wings, ribs, and sandwiches (either sliced pork or beef) with side items such as coleslaw, BBQ spaghetti, baked beans, corn, and potato salad. Envolve also donated 216 fabric face masks to be distributed at the event, and the property held a prize giveaway.

“Everyone had a wonderful time at the luncheon! Residents enjoyed the food, prizes, and most of all, the ability to chat with each other,” said Linda Ballard, Community Manager of Barry Towers. “It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to come together for an event like this. I want to thank Envolve for the joyful experience they made possible. It really meant a lot to us, especially after the difficulties of the past year.”

Catherine Carlton, a Barry Towers resident, agreed. “I would like to thank Envolve for the great time we had at our luncheon at Barry Towers. We appreciate all the work they are doing to bring about a change for our community. Keep it moving and don’t stop!” Another resident, Marcus Masby, said, “I had a great time. I’d like to thank Envolve for showing their appreciation!”; while resident Mae Coins commented, “Thank you, Envolve, for showing us love! The BBQ from Cozy Corner was on point!”

Belinda Wilson, Area Manager for Envolve Client Services Group, said the event was a resounding success.

“We had a great turnout, so we took the opportunity to thank the residents for paying 100% of their rent on time for the past two quarters—during a pandemic, no less. That’s fantastic!” said Belinda.

“The team wore matching t-shirts with the property name and picture on them,” said Holly Moore, Regional Vice President for Envolve Client Services Group. “I couldn’t be prouder of this group for all their hard work to ensure this event ran smoothly. They created a ‘cozy corner’ right here at Barry Towers!”
