Envolve LLC acquires unique independent living community
ROCKFORD, IL— Envolve LLC recently purchased Valkommen Plaza, a 171-unit apartment community that caters to seniors and disabled individuals.

Envolve, one of the country’s largest multifamily property owners and managers, has a geographic footprint of 18 states. Valkommen Plaza is the newest of three Envolve-owned properties in Illinois. This community provides income-based pricing and is HUD subsidized. It has several unique amenities for its residents, including an on-site grocery store, beauty shop, and gym. The property also hosts events such as bingo tournaments, potlucks, and bus trips/outings.
As a way of welcoming the community, Envolve invited Valkommen Plaza to participate in its Resident Lunch Program this March. Envolve purchased lunches for the property’s residents from locally-owned Stockholm Inn Swedish Restaurant (aptly chosen, as “välkommen” means “welcome” in Swedish). This program was created to support family-owned restaurants and encourage fellowship among residents and team members as they come together to enjoy a meal. Valkommen staff served up the delicious food, which included hot and cold sandwiches (either beef, turkey, or vegetable), chips, and drinks. They also held a raffle and five residents won gift bags.
“This was such an exciting event,” said Michele Cortes, Regional Manager. “It was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a luncheon with the Valkommen residents and get to know them better.”
Residents commented that they thoroughly enjoyed the festivities and were looking forward to getting to know the new property owners. What a warm välkommen indeed for all at Valkommen Plaza!
