Community in Full Bloom

Envolve purchases lunch for Elvin Estates residents from locally-owned Leo’s Mexican Food

EL PASO, TX — What started out as a way to help local businesses during the uncertain times of COVID-19 has blossomed into a lunch program that fosters community fellowship.

Envolve LLC, one of the country’s largest affordable multifamily property owners and managers, wanted to do something special to support its communities. The company purchased lunches for all residents of Elvin Estates on 3/29—but instead of patronizing a chain restaurant, they chose locally-owned Leo’s Mexican Food.

“The Envolve Resident Lunch Program was designed as a way to actively demonstrate our company tagline of ‘Making Communities Better Together,’” said Judith Estrada, Senior Regional VP at Envolve. “Its perks are twofold—our residents get to enjoy a delicious lunch, and our local community benefits from our patronage of a small business. We try to seize any opportunity to give back to the city of El Paso.”

Elvin Estates is one of the apartment communities that Envolve proudly manages for HOME (Housing Opportunity Management Enterprises), which is El Paso’s housing authority.

“HOME is appreciative of the partnership with Envolve and their collaboration with our resident communities,” said Satish Bhaskar, Executive Vice President/CFO of HOME.

Attendees gathered in the Elvin Estates Wellness Center at 12 p.m. to pick up their appetizing meals. Options included gorditas, rice, beans, tacos, chips & salsa, and sopapillas for dessert.

“Leo’s is very popular for their great Mexican food,” said Jose Cabriales, Community Manager of Elvin Estates. “They were founded in 1946 by Leo Collins and the business has been passed down from generation to generation. They provide flavorful cuisine with exceptional service!”

Envolve also donated fabric face masks to be distributed at the event, and fresh flowers were offered to all the attendees.

“We enjoyed spending some quality time with our lovely residents and treating them to lunch,” said Perla Gardea, Regional Manager. “Such an enjoyable day for everyone Envolved!
