Veterans Day at Fontainebleau

Envolve purchases lunch for Fontainebleau residents from locally-owned Frank & Helen’s

ST. LOUIS, MO — Individuals and local businesses alike have suffered greatly due to the effects of COVID-19, and the management company for Fontainebleau Apartments decided to do what they could to help.

Envolve LLC, one of the country’s largest affordable multifamily property owners and managers, wanted to do something special to support its communities. The company decided to purchase lunches for all residents of Fontainebleau on Veterans Day (11/11)—but instead of patronizing a chain restaurant, they chose locally-ownedFrank & Helen’s.

“Through the Envolve Resident Lunch Program, we’re able to support family-run businesses and treat our residents to an amazing lunch,” said Sara Daut, Regional Vice President of Lipton - A division of Envolve (often referred to as ‘Lipton-Envolve’). “Frank & Helen’s has a great history in St. Louis that dates back to the 1950s. The restaurant is located in University City, which is just a few minutes from Fontainebleau.”

Attendees gathered in the community’s lobby to pick up their delicious, homestyle meals consisting of fried/“broasted” chicken, salad, mashed potatoes, and a vegetable. Each resident received an American flag pin in honor of the holiday, and Envolve also donated 80 fabric face masks to be distributed at the event.

Fontainebleau residents agreed that the event went off without a hitch. Susan S. wrote a thank you note stating, “I’m familiar with Frank & Helen’s, so I knew the food would be great—and it was! Thank you for using a local establishment. I love being a part of the Fontainebleau community.” Susana E. said, “It was nicely done, the staff was great, and the event was well organized!” Nova F. sent an email that read, “You do such good work on providing meaningful activities for the community. I am sure all of the residents appreciate your thoughtfulness. I have lived in University City for more than 52 years, and I am so glad that Envolve is supporting local small businesses!”

Mandi Randell, Regional Manager for Lipton-Envolve, also agreed this Veterans Day lunch was a huge success. “LaToya Baldwin (Community Manager), Cheryl Henley (Housekeeping), and Eric Balven (Maintenance Technician) did an amazing job serving and greeting the residents! We had a really great turnout, and everyone loved the food. I mean, who doesn’t love fried chicken?”
