Envolve purchases lunch for Roosevelt Commons residents from locally-owned La Piazza

PHOENIX, AZ — Individuals and local businesses alike have suffered greatly due to the effects of COVID-19, and the management company for Roosevelt Commons Apartments decided to do what they could to help.

Envolve LLC, one of the country’s largest affordable multifamily property owners and managers, wanted to support its communities during these uncertain times. The company decided to purchase lunches for all residents of Roosevelt Commons on 8/26—but instead of patronizing a chain restaurant, they chose locally-owned La Piazza.

“Phoenix has given so much to us, so it’s an honor to be able to give back to this community,” said Sharon Carpenter, SVP of Operations for Envolve Client Services Group. “As the pandemic continues to take its toll on small businesses, the Envolve Resident Lunch Program has been a great way for us to support local and family-owned establishments—while simultaneously treating our residents to lunch.”

Attendees gathered in the Roosevelt Commons clubhouse to pick up their delicious Italian meals. The menu included baked rigatoni (with or without meat) served with salad and bread. Envolve also donated 50+ fabric face masks to be distributed at the event.

“Due to COVID, the majority of our residents chose to take their lunches home with them instead of dining in the clubhouse,” said Cindy Sumpter, Community Manager of Roosevelt Commons. “Several residents even delivered meals to their neighbors who are elderly or were unable to come out. That really warmed my heart!”

Roosevelt Commons residents agreed that the event went off without a hitch. Tanya R. said, “What an amazing luncheon! The food and atmosphere were very needed. I am so grateful to be a part of such an amazing community and have the greatest manager—Cindy is the best! She’s always so attentive to our community’s needs and quick to respond in any situation.”

“Our Roosevelt Commons luncheon was a big success! The residents had such great feedback and were very appreciative,” said Malia Creque, Regional Manager for Envolve Client Services Group. “It was nice to see the community come together.”
